Helping Veterans in Need

The Homeless Veteran Fund helps provide assistance to veterans who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or facing an immediate financial crisis.

Support may include help with basic needs, temporary lodging, transportation, food, emergency expenses and other assistance intended to help veterans regain stability.

Assistance is based on individual circumstances, available resources and eligibility. Requests are reviewed to determine how the Department can best assist the veteran.

How to Request Assistance

  1. Download and complete the Homeless Veterans Grant Application. The application provides the information needed to begin reviewing the request.
  2. Follow the submission instructions in the application. If those instructions are unclear, call the Department office at 253-922-2114 to confirm where to send the completed form and required supporting documents.
  3. The request will be reviewed based on the veteran's circumstances, eligibility and available resources.
  4. Ask about available assistance and referrals. Approval and the type of support depend on eligibility, the review and available resources.

Support Washington Veterans

Help a Veteran Get Back on Their Feet

Contributions support the Department’s assistance to veterans facing homelessness, housing instability or urgent financial hardship. Use the Department programs donation form and select the Homeless Veteran Fund if that option is available. Contact the Department if you need help directing your gift.
