Post Requirements (Checklist)

Administration
  • Trustee Reports of Audit on time (Jul, Oct, Jan, Apr).
  • Quartermaster bonded.
  • Election Report received by June 1, 2026.
  • No arrearages as of June 1, 2026.
  • Delegate dues paid by June 1, 2026.
  • Delegate list submitted by May 15.
Training & Meetings
  • Department School of Instruction requires Commander, Sr Vice, OR Jr Vice AND the Quartermaster.
  • Mid-Winter requires Commander, Sr Vice, OR Jr Vice.
  • District Meetings require Commander, Sr Vice, OR Jr Vice.
Programs & Community
  • Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, Youth Essay entries submitted.
  • Teacher of the Year entries at all three levels submitted.
  • Public Servant awards: Firefighter, Law Enforcement, EMT, 911 Operator, Bomb Tech.
  • Community Service Reports: target 40 entries; aim for 10 per quarter.
  • Buddy Poppies: purchase at least 500.
  • Veterans & Military Support donation: at least $125.

Awards

All-State Post Commanders: Pin + choice of All-State Cap or $70 gift card
All-State Quartermasters: Pin + choice of All-State Cap or $70 gift card
All-State Posts: Streamer + $400
Individual Recruiters: Tiered awards; Top Recruiter of the Year recognized

Captain of the All-State Team (Post)

  • Submit one Patriot's Pen, AND one VOD entry (via Scholars App).
  • Submit a Youth Essay entry.
  • Submit one Teacher of the Year in each category (3-5, 6-8, 9-12).
  • Submit one Public Servant entry (Firefighter, Law Enforcement, EMT, 911 Operator, Bomb Tech).
  • Submit a Scout of the Year.
  • Submit a Veteran of the Year.
  • Submit a Chaplain of the Year.
  • Submit a Publication Award.
  • Submit a Humanitarian of the Year.
  • Donate a minimum of $125 to VMS.
  • Purchase at least 500 Buddy Poppies (through Department).
  • Submit 10 Community Service Reports per quarter (Jul–Sep, Oct–Dec, Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun).

Captain of the All-State Team (District)

  • Submit one Youth Essay, one Patriot's Pen, and one VOD entry (via Scholars App).
  • Submit one Teacher of the Year in each category (3-5, 6-8, 9-12).
  • Submit one Public Servant entry (Firefighter, Law Enforcement, EMT, 911 Operator, Bomb Tech).

District Commander Requirements

  • District School of Instruction completed by Oct 31, 2025.
  • Quarterly Reports of Audit current as of Jun 1, 2026.
  • Verify all Posts are bonded/inspected; election reports and delegate dues current.
  • Attend SOI and submit District Meeting Reports within 30 days.
  • Ensure program participation: Veteran/Teacher/VOD/Patriot’s Pen/Youth Essay/Public Servant.

Individual Recruiter Awards

Recognition for members who recruit new comrades. The top recruiter in the Department will be honored as Top Recruiter of the Year.
