Join us for a memorable day of baseball and community as we celebrate our Active-Duty Military, their families, and VFW Members. Hosted by the VFW Department of Washington, this annual event brings together our heroes for a day of camaraderie and connection at Tacoma's beloved Cheney Stadium.
History echoes through Cheney Stadium, a testament to Tacoma's rich baseball heritage. Since 1960, it has been home to the Tacoma Rainiers and a roster of legendary players who have graced its field. From Tom Kelly to Félix Hernández, Cheney Stadium has witnessed the feats of baseball greats.
But "Heroes in the Ballpark" is about more than just the game. It's about honoring the sacrifices of our service members and their families, building lasting memories, and fostering community bonds. Generously sponsored by VFW Posts and Districts across the state, this event is entirely cost-free for our Military Members and their families.
